Berlin Transportation - looking for Drivers! Berlin Transportation Job description The successful professional-driver candidate must have the ability to provide timely loading, delivery and unloading of freight, and observe safety practices on the road and in the terminal. As a representative of our company, our drivers are expected to maintain the look and performance of the trucks and deliver professional, courteous service to our customers, their dispatchers and the motoring public. Candidates must have a valid CDL - Combination Vehicle - Class A license and at least one year’s experience or be a graduate of an accredited driver-training school. A proven safety record is our highest priority and attendance at safety meetings is mandatory. Driver responsibilities * Observe safe and professional operation of the commercial motor vehicle. Maintain schedule with mechanics. * Provide exceptional customer service, and courtesy to the motoring public. * Deliver freight on time, every time. * Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections. * Properly secure shipment and observe tarping requirements, if applicable. Alert to potential shipment issues. * Immediately report accidents to the safety department. * Turn in all paperwork immediately upon return to the terminal. * Keep current log of on- and off-duty status. * Obtain customer signature for each delivery. Our drivers Berlin Transportation’s team of professional drivers is our most valuable asset. We recruit and hire drivers based on character, experience and outstanding safety records. Training is a continuous improvement process at Berlin Transportation. New drivers are thoroughly trained in all aspects of the transportation operation from proper loading techniques to roadway safety and courtesy. Attendance at regular safety meetings is required and documented for all drivers. This safety culture is in place to insure your load gets to its destination on time and in perfect condition. The Berlin Transportation fleet consists of 48' and 53' air-ride flatbeds with 4' and 8' tarps, dry vans with swing doors, and step decks. Our fleet is powered by late model, conventional Kenworth and Peterbilt tractors. In addition, we have two straight trucks. Berlin Transportation observes a no excuse maintenance schedule, which is performed on-site by certified mechanics. All vehicles are safety checked before and after each trip to insure your cargo is delivered on time and in good condition. Service area Our primary service area covers a 300-mile radius around Millersburg, Ohio. In addition, Berlin Transportation has Ohio intrastate authority, and contract and common-carrier authority in 48 states.
