Benton Express Truck Driver Opportunities Available. We are committed to the continual improvement and training of our company and all our partners. One part of our training process that we are especially proud of is our Driver Training Academy. This training program began 10 years ago, and since that time, over 600 partners have completed the program. This training is a 2 day course which is held 1 weekend every month at one of our terminals throughout the Southeast. All drivers, managers, sales, dispatchers, customer service personnel, and bill clerks are required to attend. This training is conducted by our Senior Vice President, Benny Cordero. During this weekend of training everyone is trained on handling HAZ MAT, and are also required to pass a D.O.T Certified Exam on hazardous materials. One day of training is given to all of the following areas of operations: handling paperwork, freight bill collections, handling freight properly, Customer Service, safety (both driving and warehouse), OSD, Sales, and Driver expectations. Our company's history, our quality process, and also the services we offer to our customers are covered as well. We also focus on interacting with our customers. Everyone is tested not only on HAZ MAT, but on all subjects covered during these 2 days. We are very proud of this training program, and as a result, we have seen several improvements in our company--from accidents and on the job injuries dropping, to our claim ratio continuing to be among the lowest in the industry (.6%). This training is just one of the many steps we take to insure the that "We Do the Job Right the First Time" at Benton Express!Benton Express operates several hundred pieces of equipment throughout the six states we serve direct. Our line haul fleet consists of aerodynamic, fuel-efficient, Mack and Volvo tractors. Benton Express runs a fleet of line-haul trailers that provide Air Ride, E-Track, and liftgate capabilities. All tractors and trailers follow a rigid preventive maintenance program monitored by computer in our Jacksonville, Florida facility. During the preventive maintenance procedures, our trailers are run through a water test system that dumps up to fifty gallons of water on a trailer to ensure that it is watertight. Programs like this keep customer satisfaction and on-time service ratios high.
